This blog is about trying to do things the "slow",and "natural", way. Even though in this modern world we can't do everything this way, I try to do as much as I can. One of my hobbies is blacksmithing. I have also recently become interested in wood turning, and hope to base some of this website on that, and also baking organic bread from stone ground grains. Eventually I hope to build an outdoor wood fired bread oven.

Tapping trees
Today we tapped maple trees and I think its going to be a good week for sap. It is supposed to be over 40 degrees all week. We tapped 20 buckets and I should be boiling by this Friday. I will post more soon.

I Can Feel The Days Getting Longer
I can feel the days getting longer. In less than a week it will be time to tap maple trees. It seems like all my food projects are merging into one. I still have sausage to make, wine to bottle, bread to make, and on top of it all school. I hardly know when I am going to find time to do maple syrup. Plus I would also like to find time to Blacksmith, Read, and just relax.
